TMS Therapy for Anxiety in Jacksonville, FL

What Is TMS Therapy for Anxiety?

TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) Therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses magnetic pulses to target areas of the brain involved in anxiety regulation. It is FDA-cleared for depression and being explored as an option for anxiety when medications or therapy have not been effective.
TMS Therapy can be effective for anxiety, especially in people who haven’t responded to medication or therapy. Clinical research and patient reports show it can reduce symptoms of treatment-resistant anxiety and anxiety linked to depression. NeuroStar, a leading TMS device, has delivered over 5.3 million treatments to more than 147,400 patients, with an 83% response rate for depression. Many also reported relief from anxiety symptoms during treatment.
Most patients describe only mild to moderate discomfort during the initial sessions, typically as a tapping feeling on the scalp. This usually fades with time. Unlike other procedures, TMS does not require anesthesia, has no effect on memory, and allows patients to remain fully awake throughout treatment.
TMS Therapy is widely covered for depression by most insurance providers, including Medicare and Tricare. For patients with anxiety, coverage may vary depending on medical history and diagnosis. Our office can help confirm your plan's eligibility and assist with all documentation.

Non Invasive Procedure

TMS Therapy is a non-surgical, drug-free procedure that uses safe, magnetic pulses to stimulate brain activity.

Return to Daily Life

Patients can drive themselves to and from each session and return to normal activities immediately after treatment.

Insurance Support Available

Many insurance plans cover TMS for depression, and some may cover anxiety treatment. Our team can help verify your benefits.

What to Expect

Anxiety disorders are linked to heightened activity in brain regions that manage stress and emotional response. TMS Therapy offers a non-invasive option for patients who haven’t responded to medication or therapy. At Universal Neurological Care, our Neurologists in Northeast Florida are experienced in using advanced brain stimulation techniques like TMS to treat anxiety. Each patient receives a personalised plan based on clinical assessment and treatment goals.
Many patients report reduced anxiety symptoms such as chronic worry, muscle tension, and sleep disturbances. Results are often long-lasting, especially with continued follow-up and support. Our team monitors progress closely and adjusts care when needed to help you maintain improvement in daily life and mental clarity.
Because TMS has no effect on memory or alertness, patients can safely drive to and from each session without assistance. Treatments are typically scheduled five days a week and continue over a seven-week period. Each session lasts about 20 minutes and requires no sedation, allowing you to return to work or regular activities immediately.

Backed By Proven Research

TMS Therapy works by delivering magnetic pulses, similar in strength to an MRI, to stimulate brain areas that influence mood and anxiety. These pulses help rebalance neurotransmitters, offering lasting relief when other treatments haven’t worked.

Trusted By Professionals

Since its FDA clearance in 2008, TMS Therapy has been increasingly covered by insurance, including Medicare and Tricare. It is widely recommended for patients who have not improved with medication or cannot tolerate its side effects.
